Meet Your Baker

Simon Fraser, Owner/Baker at Breadtopia

Simon has been baking professionally since 2002.  While completing a degree at the University of Western Ontario, he started experimenting with baking sourdough bread using flour from Arva Flour Mills.  He also spent two of his summers while at university working at a nearby organic farm.  For the next ten years he travelled and worked at bakeries in Toronto, the U.K., Victoria, BC and Guelph, Ontario. In 2007 he attended Camp Bread at the San Francisco Baking Institute and had the opportunity to meet and exchange knowledge with like-minded bakers from across Canada, the US and Europe.  Simon, his wife Sylvia and two sons reside in St Marys, Ontario.
