Stratford Slow Food Market - April 13th

An important reminder that there is no market next week, Easter Sunday, April 20th.  The following week, April 27th is the final edition of the Indoor Stratford Slow Food Market for the season.  We will be taking a break from then until Saturday, May 17th, when we return to the St Mary's Farmers' Market.  We will be there every Saturday 8am-noon until the end of October.

Don't forget to pre-order our delicious Hot Cross Buns for you Easter celebrations.  (Ingredients: Organic unbleached white flour, organic whole milk, sugar, egg, butter, currants, golden and sultana raisins, candied citrus and lemon peel, rum, sea salt, yeast and spices.)   The price is $1.50 each or $7 per half dozen buns.  They freeze very well and can be be thawed, wrapped in foil and reheated in your home oven.  Quantities are limited and pre-ordering is recommended.

The feature bread this week is Polenta & Pumpkin Seed.  This one is oval in shape, 100% naturally leavened and hasn't made an appearance for quite awhile.  For the polenta, we use organic coarsely stone-milled cornmeal from Oak Manor Organic Mill in Tavistock.  Lightly toasted pumpkin seeds provide additional flavour and texture to the finished bread.

This week we also have Cherry Danish and Red Onion & Aged Cheddar Focaccia
