St Marys Farmers' Market - Saturday June 7th

The feature bread this week is Pain de Mie.  Translated literally it means "bread of crumb".  Also known as "Pullman" bread because of its former use on long-distance Pullman trains.  Most of our breads here at Breadtopia are crusty and chewy.  This is a traditional French bread that is quite the opposite, a bread with little to no crust.  It has a soft crumb texture, buttery flavour and is perfectly square.  Makes great sandwiches as well as french toast.

Pita Bread is now available every week, made using 100% Ontario-grown unbleached wheat flour milled at nearby Arva Flour Mills.  Beginning this week, Granola is now available in 1 lb bags.  After a two week absence, Hamburger Buns will once again be available. 

The feature pastry this week is once again, Rhubarb Danish.  Fresh Rhubarb is from Sophia Slater.

Also this week, we have Rosemary & Parmesan Fougasse and Kalamata Olive and Oregano Focaccia.
